Free color analysis test

This free color analysis test asks 12 questions about your veins, how you tan, gold or silver, your natural hair and eyes and the colors people compliment, then shows your most likely season, a runner-up and the palette that goes with it. It takes about two minutes, runs in your browser and needs no photo or account.

Question 1 of 12

In daylight, what color are the veins on your inner wrist?

Look without a lamp on, arm relaxed.

How the color analysis test scores you

Every answer moves three dials. Temperature runs from warm (golden, peachy) to cool (pink, bluish). Value runs from light to deep. Chroma runs from bright and clear to soft and muted. The dial that moves furthest names your season family branch: if softness wins and you lean cool, you land in Soft Summer; if depth wins and you lean warm, Deep Autumn.

Temperature

Veins, sun reaction, metals, white vs cream, lipstick and blush.

Value

Skin depth, natural hair, how black looks next to your face.

Chroma

Contrast, eye clarity and whether brights or muted shades get compliments.

Result

Your likely season, a runner-up and 12-season palette swatches.

That is the same logic analysts use with drapes, just with your memory instead of fabric. It is why the test also names a close second: when two dials are nearly equal, both seasons deserve a look.

Tips to answer the color analysis test well

Unsure about undertone? Do the 30-second undertone check first, then come back.

  • Answer for your natural hair color, or the color of your roots and eyebrows if you dye it.
  • Check veins and white vs cream in daylight by a window, not under a lamp.
  • Think about compliments you get without makeup, not what you like wearing.
  • If two answers fit, pick the one that is true more often. Skipping a question is fine; it counts as neutral.

What a color analysis test can and cannot tell you

A questionnaire is a fast, free first guess. It does a good job of finding your family (Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter) and is often right about the exact season. Where it struggles is with people who sit between two seasons, dyed hair, and memories of colors seen under shop lighting.

If the result surprises you, or the runner-up sounds just as right, confirm it with the AI color analysis from a selfie, which reads your actual skin, hair and eyes and returns a 30-color palette for 5 credits.

FAQ

Questions people ask

Is the color analysis test really free?

Yes. The test on docoloranalysis.com is free, needs no account and no photo, and your answers stay in your browser.

Is a color analysis test the same as a color quiz?

Yes, the names are used for the same thing: a set of questions about your natural color (veins, skin, hair, eyes) that estimates your color season. Some quizzes use 4 seasons; this color analysis test uses 12 and adds a runner-up.

How accurate is an online color analysis quiz?

Usually right about your family and often your exact season, but it depends on how well you can judge your own veins, contrast and compliments. The result always shows a runner-up; if both seem right, a photo report settles it.

What are the 12 seasons in color analysis?

Light, True and Bright Spring; Light, True and Soft Summer; Soft, True and Deep Autumn; Deep, True and Bright Winter. Each is named after its strongest trait. See them all.

Can I take the test for someone else?

Yes, answer the questions for them. For their photo report, use a photo they agree to share.

Why did I get a different season than another quiz?

Quizzes weigh questions differently, and many use the 4-season system. Ours uses the 12 seasons and shows your runner-up; neighbouring seasons share many colors, so a different but neighbouring answer is common.
